Oscar Wilde wrote that “Life imitates art far more than art imitates life.” I agree with one of the comments from the article, that we are innately creative creatures, we need to create, to be creative in our thoughts and our work and lives. In my own personal teaching experiences, arts education not only enhances education, it in and of itself creates ways to teach in ways that are meaningful to an individual. Bringing arts into the practicum of everyday pedagogy makes it work. This reminds me also of Vygotsky’s work, in terms of having certain actions practiced with teaching certain skills. Important article, thanks Christine!
